MARKFIELD GREYHOUND STADIUM

The Leicestershire village of Markfield is now a commuter village close to both Hinckley and Bosworth. However, in the early 1930s the village had a greyhound track situated at 1° 16' W 52° 41' N. The track held its opening meeting on 3rd January 1931, running sprints over 330 yards and standard races over 500 yards.

The venture was not a success and the track closed before the end of the year.
